Natural Liver Cleansing Foods (Natural Liver Detox)

Moreover, the liver is a gland that secretes chemicals required by other parts of the body. In fact, the liver is the only part of your body that is both an organ and a gland.

A healthy liver regulates the composition of blood, removes harmful toxins from the blood as well as processes and converts nutrients absorbed by the intestines during digestion into forms that the body can use. It also stores some vitamins, iron and simple sugar glucose.

It is also responsible for breaking down insulin, hemoglobin and other hormones. In addition, it destroys old red blood cells and produces chemicals needed for blood to clot properly.

Because the liver performs so many vital functions, it is important to keep it healthy by natural liver cleansing foods. An unhealthy diet and poor lifestyle can overwork and overload the liver, leaving it unable to process toxins and fat efficiently.

This in turn can raise the risk of obesity, cardiovascular disease, chronic fatigue, headaches, digestive problems, allergies and many other health problems.

Many natural liver cleansing foods like aloe vera can help cleanse, rejuvenate and detoxify liver. These liver cleansing foods will help keep your liver healthy and functioning the way you need it to.

The Raw Food Detox Diet: Myth or Magic?

Standing out among the innumerable amount of diets, health programs, and exercise fads, the Raw Food Detox Diet (RFDD) is one of the most intriguing and discussed mainstays of the past few years.

If you're considering following a version of the RFDD, there are variables of substantial importance that you need to consider.

The Raw Food Detox Diet: Myth or Magic?

You'll quickly discover that your choice is not so easy when faced with countless competing advice columns and books claiming the best means of initiation. To make matters worse, there are more than a few prominent naysayers with effective points of contention. All of this leads to the need for proper research before considering that a raw food detox diet is right for you.

On the positive side, raw foods in themselves are considered universally healthy for the human body; an established truth advocated by all mainstream nutritionists and physicians. The dilemma at hand is whether consuming these foods alone produces a healthy result for those considering the RFDD. Think about this statement:

"Long-term fasts lead to muscle breakdown and a shortage of many needed nutrients. They can also weaken the body's ability to fight infections and inflammation due to the depriving the body of necessary vitamins and minerals." - Lona Sandon, American Dietetic Association

In tandem with this statement, Dr. Mark of Good Living Warehouse states that the symptoms of detox often hailed as positives by its advocates are actually symptoms of starvation, and the body was designed with its own system for detoxification.

The principal issue with a raw food detox diet that is difficult to ignore remains the looming issue of vitamin and mineral deficiency. This problem is three-fold. First, if you begin a detox regimen without a healthy amount of alkaline minerals in your body, you risk the chance of becoming seriously ill. You will also retain the toxins intended for release and not experience any significant weight reduction. This possibility can be prevented by eating an abundance of green vegetables with your current diet before committing to detoxification.

The second matter is that the raw food detox diet cannot provide specific essential vitamins that the body needs. The foremost of these are vitamin B12, vitamin D, and essential fatty acids. You must make sure to consume enough iron and zinc as well, especially as a pre-menopausal female. These issues are of less concern when proactively utilizing proper supplements; an essential action for anyone committing to a raw food detox diet.

Finally, there are substantial variances in regard to the length of time a raw food detox diet should be committed to. There are those that sponsor a seven day diet compared to others that claim it should be a lifelong dedication. This is another point requiring heavy research before obligating yourself to a defining time period.

Supporters of the raw food detox diet adamantly state that raw foods purify our internal systems despite claims against it. They also contend that even though our body has its own detoxification system, there is much we can do to give it a helping hand. This observation is supported by statements such as this:

"Unfortunately, our modern lifestyle exposes us to an increasingly complex (and deteriorating) environment, so that our detoxification systems must work overtime just to process the toxins we encounter in everyday life. Many of us have exceeded our capacity for cleansing." - Mark Hyman, MD

Dr. Hyman's point is significant because it helps bridge the gap between the pros and cons of the raw food detox diet. His statement demonstrates that perhaps a raw food detox is not a necessity for standard detoxification but a valuable assistant to an already capable, yet struggling, body. In light of this view and the utilization of proper supplements it's possible that a short-term raw food detox can help eliminate toxins, kickstart weight loss, and bring the body's own natural purging capabilities back to optimum working conditions.

Whichever decision you make, never consign yourself to any diet without first informing a medical practitioner or nutritionist. Due to the fact that each body varies so distinctly from the next, a proper blood panel and evaluation will further assist you in evaluating whether you're a good candidate for detoxification. Once this is complete and you decide on committing to a raw food detox diet, make sure to read the signs your body tells you, consider sharing your experiences with others, and always attempt to remain informed by current research and information.

The Right Detox Diet For a Better, Healthier Life

The human body is perfectly capable of detoxifying itself naturally. However, with all the unnecessary additives you consume in your every day life your body will find it increasingly difficult to detoxify fully. What you need is the best detox diet that will allow you to feel healthier without having to spend large amounts of money. Not everyone needs a detox; actually, a detox for the wrong reason and not a good diet plan can do more harm than good.

The Right Detox Diet For a Better, Healthier Life

A detox diet is not just about losing weight, going on starvation for weeks, drowning yourself in litres of water and juices every day. It is about flushing away all the impurities from your body, yes this is possible in a more subtle way by changing your diet. This will be creating a new and healthy lifestyle pattern to follow and finally keeping to the regime to prevent a new and unhealthy build up. There is an enormous number of recipes to choose from for your plan and you can indeed design them to fit perfectly with your needs and your body.

Before you start on your detoxification diet you need to make sure of just what your targets and aims are. Once again, it cannot be stressed enough that a detox is not a quick solution to lose weight and you need to concentrate on the diet plan as a way to improve your health in general. You may wish to start on a full body detox, or you might wish to experiment with recipes for specific areas of the body. There are different parts of the body that can benefit from a deep cleanse and this includes the kidneys and colon. If you are experiencing frequent stomach upsets then a colon detox recipe is what you need to concentrate on.

To address the areas that you would like to improve on with a detox diet, next you should decide on a time scale for your plan. Depending on severity of your problems you may choose to detox every day or you may choose to limit a colon detox to a twice weekly event, depending on the general state of your body and the time since you last detoxified. Results will be quicker or slower; once you are feeling no stomach pain at all is a good time to move on and concentrate on a different area of the body.

Lastly, decide on the recipes you will use for your detox diet, there being a wide range to choose from. Some people swear on a detox diet of pure vegetables and fruit immersed in large quantities of liquid. Others prefer a recipe that involves bath recipes using sea salt, Epsom salt and chlorox. One of the quickest and most popular detoxifying diet recipes is lemon mixed with syrup, cayenne pepper and water.

Always remember to treat with caution if you are new to detox. If your body has been getting unhealthy food then you should cut back slowly by starting with a full body detox. The one that needs it most is someone who suffers from the harmful effects of wrong foods and too much of it over a long time. Choose a detox program for your specific purpose to make sure it is a safe and sensible detox plan using the right components, and not just picking any at random. If it's done for the right reason a detox is a great way to get healthy, lose some weight and start feeling good about yourself. The true key to success is to dramatically change your lifestyle and to stop damaging your body with processed foods, chunk food, nasty chemicals and toxins.

Detoxification & Permanent Weight Loss Made Easy: 7 Tips for Staying on Task

Exercise in the morning
Most important of all in maintaining a detox regimen is to keep a schedule. We are trying to form healthier habits and break away from old comforts. At first, this can seem like a radical overhaul, but it is essential to give it at least a week.

Time management problems make us feel rushed and stressed, irritable and eventually "hangry." Here are seven tips to help you stick to your goals:

1. Exercise in the morning when you have more energy. It's even better if you can get outside and enjoy good weather!

2. Stretch, meditate, pray, or do breathwork at night when it can calm you down to sleep easier.

3. Plan your meals and anticipate obstacles in advance. If you are meeting a friend that may tempt you astray, think of responses and countersuggestions in advance. Invite them over to try some of your home-cooked food! When are you usually craving snacks? Try to have healthier alternatives prepared beforehand so the throngs of hunger are relieved before you can rationalize yourself away from your intended goal.

4. Try a television fast. Sometimes at the end of the day we may find ourselves wanting to lay down on the sofa and watch television. When this becomes habitual it can lower productivity and take us away from quality time with family. Instead of relying on TV "escapism," we might try turning on the radio and reading, writing, or talking with family. Less light at night also allows us to sleep easier and more restfully. Getting adequate rest is essential to restoring energy reserves.

5. Try scheduling specific times to return calls, emails, and respond to other social media. With few exceptions, let all calls go to voicemail and return them when it fits into your schedule better. If you stick to it, you may be pleasantly surprised at how much time this frees up.

6. Try multitasking when you do mundane tasks. Got headphones or bluetooth for your phone? Try calling mom, friends, or work contacts while on the treadmill, cooking, or doing dishes. Try audiobooks and newscasts while you commute.

7. Honor your schedule as you would your boss. The more we make exceptions for others, the more we sacrifice our true desires-time for ourselves and loved ones.

Keeping a schedule can be difficult at first, especially when it entails getting up earlier to workout, but after a few days, it molds us into stronger, more efficient people. After a few weeks, the new regimen becomes habit. Good Luck!

The Lemonade Detox Diet – A Simple Recipe For Weight Loss

The Lemon Diet, also known as the master cleanse, is a diet resulting in rapid weight loss over a period of several days to about a week. Lemons being rich in antioxidants and vitamins, helps to detox the body. Thus, it is very important to introduce citrus fruits like lemon, grapefruit, oranges and kiwi in your daily diet.

The lemon detox diet was popularized by singer Beyonce Knowles who announced at the Oprah Winfrey Show that she lived on a lemon diet with cayenne pepper and maple syrup for 15 days and lost 20 pounds (9 kgs) in two weeks.

Nevertheless, the lemonade diet has been around for 50 years. Originally developed by Stanley Burroughs, this is designed to cleanse your body of toxins, the major benefit being rapid weight loss. The main reason for this weight loss is that this diet limits your caloric intake by a tremendous amount. This dramatic cut in calories results in a loss of considerable amount of weight in a very short period of time. This diet can be resorted to by someone who has to attend a social function in a couple of weeks and need to lose a lot of weight to look their best for the event.

The Lemonade Detox Diet – A Simple Recipe For Weight Loss

How to follow the lemon diet?

Things needed:
  • Spring water
  • Grade B maple syrup
  • Freshly squeezed lemon juice
  • Cayenne pepper sea salt

1. Lemon diet should be followed on a clear schedule. This diet is not suitable for a vacation or during a hectic period. Thus it should be undertaken in a relaxed manner, preferably at home or close to home.

2. Mix 12-14 tablespoons of freshly squeezed lemon juice, 1/2 teaspoons of cayenne pepper and 12-14 tablespoons of maple syrup in 2 litres of water. This mixture is enough to last for the whole day.

3. Keep sipping small amounts of this mixture during the day whenever you feel hunger pangs. The mixture can be followed with plain water, if necessary.

4. Make a salt water flush by mixing 1 tablespoon sea salt in 1 litre of water and drink it all at once. It might seem difficult but it yields better results. The major reason for following this diet at home is because within an hour of drinking the salt water flush, one will experience a bowel movement lasting for about 30 to 60 minutes. It is more preferable to prepare the salt water flush in the evening.

5. This diet should be followed for 3 to10 days by drinking the same amount of lemon mixture and salt water flush each day.

Food Combination with the Lemon Diet

While following this diet, no solid food is allowed. It calls for 6 or more servings of the specialized lemonade mixture everyday. In addition to this, the salt water flush helps to cleanse the body. Different people incorporate this diet for varying amounts of time, mostly lasting for 2 days. Combining food throughout the entire process would, therefore, defeat its main purpose. However, food can be combined in the beginning and at the end of  the lemon diet to ease your body into and off the diet.

Things needed:
  • Fruits
  • Vegetables
  • Orange juice
  • Grade B syrup,
  • Lemon juice
  • Cayenne pepper
  • Unrefined sea salt
  • Non processed foods

1. Only fruits and vegetables should be consumed on the first day of the diet to ease your body into what it will be going through during the course of diet. The fruits and vegetables should, preferably, be raw.

2. Drink 3 litres of orange juice with 2 tablespoons of grade B maple syrup in it during the second day. Decide the period of detox. Most people detox for 2 days during which they can only consume 2 litres of lemonade per day when they feel hunger pains.

3. Drink a mixture of 3 litres of orange juice and 2 tablespoons of grade B maple syrup during the first day after you have finished detoxing.

4. Fruits and vegetables (preferably raw) should be consumed on the second day after completion of detox.

5. Fruits, vegetables and non- processed foods can be eaten during the third day after stopping of detox. This should be followed by grains such as brown rice and oats to ease you back into your regular diet.

Points to be kept in mind
  • Lemon diet is basically a detoxification diet, not a weight loss plan. Therefore, one is likely to regain at least half of the weight lost in the course of diet once the diet is over.
  • It is absolutely essential to wean yourself off of caffeine before beginning the diet to avoid unpleasant withdrawal effects.
  • This diet should not be followed for a period of more than 2 weeks (10 days being the maximum). In case of health issues, consult the doctor before following the diet.

Benefits Of Lemonade Diet:

1. The benefit of this diet is often explained in the form of rapid weight loss. To put it in a better way, this program enables the body to regain its balance of elements and maintain its optimum weight. Those who are not over weight lose between 2-3 kgs and those who are underweight re-establish the balance of the body’s metabolism. The process would have taken much longer if the body had to burn off all the excess fat.

2. The loss of weight is only a secondary effect, the principal effect being detoxification of the organs of the body. Moreover, the body gets rid of fat deposits. It is in the course of this purification that the skin and hair get embellished.

3. Detoxification will allegedly rid the body of warts, arthritis, asthma, stomach troubles etc. Besides, lemon juice and cayenne pepper will flush out excess fat from your body leading to rapid weight loss during the diet and cleanse the lymphatic system, of toxins. The maple syrup contains all the nutrients your body needs to function during this time.

Side effects of Lemon Diet:

As it is a master cleanse, the lemon diet will release toxins into your  body causing symptoms like headaches, dizziness, nausea or a general feeling of being tired and possibly other symptoms. The magnitude and occurrence of these symptoms depend on how many toxins you have in your body.

To conclude, just like any other diet, in case of a lemon diet also, it is appropriate to consult your physician before starting it.
