10 Low-Calorie Breakfasts To Speed up Metabolism and Lose Weight

This recipe was created in honor of the Russian dancer Anna Pavlova during her tour in New Zealand and Australia. Who is the creator of this deliciously refined dessert is controversial - but we don't care about that, as long as it tastes good. And it does, very much so!

Pavlova - Divine Dessert, deliciously crispy and fluffy at the same time

INGREDIENTS

MERINGUE

3 egg whites
1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon cornstarch
1 teaspoon white vinegar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 pinch of salt

CHANTILLY CREAME

1 package whipped cream
2 tablespoons powdered sugar

FRUITS

2 cups of different fruits: Kiwis, raspberries, peaches, grapes, etc. and cut into portions

PREPARATION

STEP 1

Beat the egg whites until snowy and slowly add the sugar. Carefully fold in the cornstarch, the vinegar and the vanilla extract. To one third of the meringue spread on a baking sheet laid with baking paper with a diameter of about 20 cm. Using a pastry bag, sprinkle the other two thirds on the "bottom" to make a crown and bake at 100 degrees (or less) for 2 hours. He is done as soon as the outer shell is hard. Turn off the oven and leave it for a few minutes with the door halfway open. Then remove from the oven and let cool.

STEP 2

Beat the cream and add the sugar.

STEP 3

Put the meringue on the plate, top with cream and garnish with fruit.

Pavlova meringue-based dessert

If you already buy a finished "Chantilly Creame" and contain this vanilla, you do not need to add extra vanilla extract in the meringue itself!

Low Carb Desserts - Low Carb Coconut Chia Seed Pudding with Goji Berries

Preparation:

  1. We used coconut milk without emulsifiers (only coconut and water). Therefore, the coconut and the coconut water must first be mixed together and briefly heated to form a uniform liquid.
  2. If you want to sweeten the mixture extra, it would be good to heat the birch sugar as well (this is how the birch sugar dissolves).
  3. Mix the coconut milk, chia seeds, bourbon vanilla and cinnamon and leave to soak for 20 minutes at room temperature.
  4. Stir once after 20 minutes. Fill the mixture into four small bowls or glasses and place in the fridge for about 1 hour so that the pudding can stick.
  5. Then spread goji berries as desired on each bowl/glass.
  6. Preparation time: about 10 minutes plus 1 1/2 hours swelling and cooling time

Ingredients:

  • 400 ml coconut milk
  • 4 tbsp chia seeds
  • Goji berries at will
  • Birch sugar (xylitol) as desired
  • 1 tsp bourbon vanilla (ground)
  • 1 tsp cinnamon

Who invented it?

Perhaps the Swiss, who call it "Fotzelschnitte"?
Or the Americans, for whom a brunch without "French toast" would be inconceivable?
It could have been the Germans. "Poor knights," they say.
Corn not, the French will object, le "Pain Perdu" we have invented!
The Brazilians were probably not, although the name "Rabanada" promises delicious.
Or was it the Laotians with their "Bombay Toast"?

It is first mentioned in texts from the Middle Ages. Formerly a popular fasting dish, later cried out as poor people's food. Today French toast is usually served for breakfast or as a sweet z'night. What has never changed, however, are the basic ingredients. Eggs, milk and stale bread. For vegan varieties, vegetable milk is often mixed with flour, starch or tofu as an egg substitute. Not bad, but this version with banana and coconut flakes beats everything.

How to Make French Toast Without Eggs But With Banana and Coconut

For 2 persons:

  • 1/2 baguette from the day before
  • 1 large banana, almost overripe
  • 200 ml milk or coconut milk
  • 2 pinches of salt
  • 1 tbsp cornflour
  • about 4 tbsp coconut flakes
  • Alsan and rapeseed oil for frying

Cut the baguette into thumb-thick slices. Peel the banana, cut into small pieces and puree together with milk and salt. Whisk the starch with part of the banana milk without lumps, then mix everything together. Place baguette slices side by side in a casserole dish and pour the banana milk over them.

Soak for ten minutes, then turn the slices and let them steep for another 5-10 minutes. Heat Alsan and rapeseed oil in equal parts in a large pan. Sprinkle the coconut flakes on both sides of the baguette slices. Fry on each side over medium heat until golden brown. Serve with speculoosugar, cinnamon-sugar, maple syrup or muscat syrup. Caramel version: If the slices are still light golden, sprinkle with sugar in the pan. Turn around and fry briefly until it smells wonderful. Sprinkle the second side with sugar and caramelize as well.

This particular recipe is one of my favorites because I love peppers and spring onions on their own, so to be able to incorporate it into hummus and it taste good was ideal. It is so quick to whiz up and is a great base for a main dish or even just as a side as a dip, hummus is so versatile and I love making my own.

While this recipe is probably fairly similar to what you may do on a traditional burger. Because ground turkey often contains less fat than ground beef you want to make sure not to overcook the burger as it is easier to dry out than beef. You will however want to make sure to that the inside is cooked through because it is poultry after all and you want to eat a safe burger. I believe 160 degrees is the temperature but I do not check with a thermometer, after a while you can just tell when they are done. I hope you enjoy it. Keep your eye out for other unique and interesting burger ideas to try.

Turkey Burger Recipe: A Healthier Way To Enjoy An American Classic

Ingredients

  • 1 pound of ground turkey
  • 4 whole-grain buns
  • 4 tablespoons of seasoned breadcrumbs
  • tablespoons of onion (diced)
  • 2 tablespoons of parsley (chopped)
  • 4 slices of tomato
  • 4 slices of red onion
  • 2 lettuce leaves (halved)
  • 1 tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon of your favorite hot sauce
  • 4 tablespoons of ketchup
  • Salt & pepper (to taste)

Instructions

To begin on your grilled turkey burger recipe, use a large bowl to mix together the ground turkey, seasoned bread crumbs, parsley, chopped onion, hot sauce and Worcestershire sauce. My wife prefers fresh bread crumbs although I like them dry. Mix well and divide the mixture into four equal portions. Form these portions into patties.

Use a charcoal grill to prepare a hot fire. Alternatively, you can use a gas grill which is how I often do it. If you have a George Foreman grill - even better.

Lightly coat your cooking surface with Pam or a similar spray, away from your heat source. Place your cooking rack about five inches away from the heat.

Next, grill your burgers until they are browned well on both sides. I normally do mine for about seven minutes on each side to ensure that they are heated through.

You may then serve your turkey burgers on buns topped with one slice of tomato, onion, half a lettuce leaf, along with a dollop of ketchup. If you feel that you require more enhancements, you may add a 1/2 cup of finely chopped red bell pepper like my wife does.

Cooking time (duration): 30 Minutes

Number of servings (yield): 4 Burgers

Turkey Burger Recipe: A Healthier Way To Enjoy An American Classic

Having kids is not an easy job. Daily tasks can sometimes seem so overwhelming. Having five kids of my own, I can completely relate with the day to day frustrations. Fortunately, I do not have any teenagers, yet. With five kids, meal time can be quite chaotic. But how much harder is it, when you must have gluten free recipes for kids as well?

Gluten Free Recipes For Kids

Let's face it. American kids live off of pizza, hamburgers, macaroni and cheese, chicken nuggets, hot dogs, and the list of junk goes on and on. All of this garbage food is making obesity in children a norm. Not only that, but it is all full of gluten. With children that are on a gluten-free diet, it makes it very challenging to cook for them. Despite these challenges, there are actually a lot of options out there that are great gluten-free recipes for kids.

Let's begin with fruit as a snack. Fruit is naturally sweet and vitamin packed, unlike all of the foods listed above. What about a smoothie? Smoothies are extremely tasty, with the natural fruit sugar, and are very filling. Making that smoothie dairy-free, gluten-free, and all natural ensures that all food allergies are addressed and health is taken into consideration. Smoothies are very easy to make and will leave kids asking for more. When I make smoothies, it seems there is never enough to go around.

What ingredients make a great smoothie? The ingredients all depend on your kids' personal preference. We love to combine peaches, strawberries, blackberries, and freshly squeezed orange juice. Some days, I am too lazy to juice oranges and will just exchange coconut milk for the juice. Other days, I do not want to add blackberries. And just recently, I decided to use coconut milk, a very small portion of a banana, and strawberries together. You can't go wrong with smoothies. All you need is some fruit, a blender, and an ability to experiment!

For lunch, a chicken nugget recipe does not need to be thrown out the window. Just use common sense and make them all natural. They are easy to make and taste great. All you need is cubed chicken, eggs, a gluten-free flour blend, paprika, and pepper. Dip the chicken in the eggs and the flour. Place them on a pan and sprinkle paprika and pepper. They take a very short time to bake. Once they are done, the kids are scrambling to the table to get as many as possible.

For dinner, spaghetti is one of the many gluten-free recipes for kids. When making spaghetti, simply buy gluten-free pasta. I have a favorite brand that I use all of the time, which has a good flavor and texture. Then, I make my own homemade spaghetti sauce. All I use is tomato puree, oregano, basil, salt, and pepper. Throw that in with some hamburger, and dinner is served.

I have a harder time making dessert. I have some gluten-free dessert recipes that are good, but I struggle with getting the texture of the dessert just right (it can be a little dry). I have figured out how to make a good gluten-free, dairy-free, banana cream pie filling and pie crust. The texture is good and the flavor leaves you craving more. What kid wouldn't go for a great dessert recipe? All of the ingredients that are needed are coconut milk, eggs, evaporated cane juice crystals, a gluten-free flour blend, vanilla, and a natural buttery spread. It is easy to make this pie filling.

So, don't give up on finding great gluten-free recipes for kids. It is actually easier than it seems at first. It is a blessing to give up gluten. Just think no more greasy pizza, nitrate filled hot dogs with buns, cheeseburgers, chicken nuggets, and macaroni and cheese. Throw out the preservatives and cook all natural foods that your kids will come back to over and over again. When they are parents, they will be thankful that you took the time to take care of them and fed them all natural gluten-free foods.
